Honey Chicken BBQ Skewers
Who doesn’t love a good Aussie BBQ, and now that the weather is warming up and we are heading towards Christmas having a BBQ can be a great way to feed the whole family on holidays or at home.
This Honey Chicken BBQ skewer recipe is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
What you’ll need:
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 tablespoons honey
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 skinless, boneless chicken breast fillets – cut into cubes
2 cloves garlic, crushed
5 onions, cut into wedges
2 red peppers, cut into pieces
12 skewers
Oil for the grill hotplate
Method:
In a large bowl, whisk together oil, honey, soy sauce and pepper. Before adding chicken, reserve a small amount of marinade for brushing onto skewers while cooking.
Place the chicken, garlic, onions and peppers in the bowl, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 2 hours (the longer, the better).
Preheat barbecue for high heat.
Drain marinade from the chicken and vegetables then discard. Thread chicken and vegetables alternately onto the skewers.
Lightly oil the cooking grill hotplate. Cook kebabs for 12 to 15 minutes until chicken juices run clear. Turn and brush with reserved marinade frequently.
